Shop Project: 1989 Toyota MR2 GT

This Toyota MR2 came to us completely stock. Although we all enjoy the look and feel of these cars, we had a little something different in mind. We have given this car a COMPLETE overhaul. Starting with the most exciting part: an Engine swap! What exactly? A Civic type R K20A and a Hondata Kpro4 ECU. This car was also an automatic when it came to us a couple months ago but now has a type R 6 speed limited slip transmission. We had to custom fabricate a header and exhaust to make this swap work but boy, does it work! Along with a custom shifter as well, we took this car from its stock 110 hp to 210 horses to the wheel. This car is everything you wanted from it and more. We can’t wait to see it out there!
