This ball joint is used for the upper rear trailing arm bushing on ALL E36, E46, and Z4 cars. BMW used it as the lower bushing on M cars, (except the 1995 M3). On all non M cars BMW used a rubber bushing at the lower position. This is a great upgrade for the lower bushing on all non M cars and the 1995 M3, because it has no bushing deflection and low friction.
